Logistics Manager

We are a fast-growing, international e-commerce company founded in 2005 with over 160 people in two offices: Cologne, Germany, and Chicago, USA. We specialize in providing e-commerce services to companies that sell digital products, such as software. We have built an industry-leading e-commerce platform, and we provide fraud management services, order-related support and marketing services. For our office in Chicago we are seeking an experienced and professional:

Logistics Manager

Responsibilities:

You will develop the concept and the implementation of the entire physical logistics processes to enable our international customers with timely fulfillment of items ordered through our existing e-commerce solution. This includes defining all requirements and setting up the conceptual planning of the logistics operations across several continents and distribution points with third party logistics providers. You will also oversee and effectively manage the supply chain including all planning, warehousing, transportation, and inventory control. You will work closely with all business units and functions (Development, Client Management, etc.) to align the process with the corporate strategy. Your role demands high involvement at the operational level, and you will work together and report directly to the management team.You will have>proven experience with cost/time analysis, industry global challenges and service provider management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Evaluation, selection, and management of logistics service providers and vendors
  • Contract negotiation and business relationship management
  • Quality assurance for all processes
  • Effectively implement all inventory planning activities using typical logistics metrics and KPIs to track, control and improve performance.
  • Implement process & system improvements related to replenishment activities. Provide functional core competence in the specification of enhanced replenishment algorithms and systems.
  • Request, evaluate, and perform requirements analysis for new and existing clients.
  • Continually optimizing the fulfillment network and supporting and sustaining the company’s distribution of products
  • Identify and drive process to continually achieve cost savings and efficiency improvements in the supply chain and service levels
  • Establish company policy and procedures regarding fulfillment
  • International travel expected (25%-50%)

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar position with exposure to international business and project management
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • At least 3 years (international) logistic experience
  • Detailed hands-on experience and know-how of inventory management
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems
  • Excellent skills in negotiation, communication and presentation
  • Strong Excel spreadsheet skills; proficiency in MS Office applications
  • High affinity to IT and computer software
