We are a fast-growing, international e-commerce company founded in 2005 with over 160 people in two offices: Cologne, Germany, and Chicago, USA. We specialize in providing e-commerce services to companies that sell digital products, such as software. We have built an industry-leading e-commerce platform, and we provide fraud management services, order-related support and marketing services.

Job Description:

cleverbridge manages online stores for a variety of software manufacturers and digital media companies and is looking for a front-end, open-standards web developer: This position requires experience with hands-on aspects of web interface development, as well as an ability to integrate client websites with an e-commerce provider's platform and technologies; and the ability to communicate these solutions to other members of the team both verbally and in written documentation.

Responsibilities:

Being able to emulate existing HTML schemes and create new ones that will integrate well with existing HTML. Strong HTML, CSS, JavaScript, DHTML.
Creating checkout page designs that mimic and compliment the look and feel of customer's existing websites, including graphic design, site navigation, and layout of content.
The hand coding of web pages, emails and web-based applications.
Optimizing performance of online checkout pages.

Desired Skills & Experience:

Extensive experience in hand coding, no WYSIWYG coding.
The ability to write standards compliant HTML & CSS with thought given to accessibility and SEO.
Solid understanding of cross-browser/platform issues and code solutions.
Practical understanding of SQL databases.
Writing well-formed, unobtrusive JS with scalability and extensibility in mind.
Some experience with server-side scripting (PHP, .Net, etc.).
Excellent debugging and problem solving skills (familiarity with debugging tools; firebug, inspector, etc.).
Ability to follow technical specifications and production processes.
Experience / familiarity with WordPress (or similar).
Experience with mobile web development.
